1/3. “Wow! Amazing!”

“Wow! Amazing!”

Lily was surprised to see a city with skyscrapers towering over it from the train window.

I’m Lily Labiris, a Rabbit.

I’m a country girl who just graduated from junior high school and moved from the countryside.

And this is what happened when I got on the train and sat down.

“Are you going to Newport too, little girl?”

When Lily got on the train and sat down, her grandfather Jeffrey, who was sitting next to her, asked.

“Yes!”

Lily replied cheerfully.

“We’ll be leaving soon. Everyone please take your seats.”

The conductor walked over and called out to the passengers.

“Looks like we’re about to depart! Let’s go everyone!”

“Have a nice trip, big sister!”

“Make sure you write a letter!”

“Don’t follow strangers!”

“I know! See you later!”

My family saw me off and I headed to the big city of Newport.

Because I was working for my dad’s brother, Uncle Ted’s company in Newport.

2/3. “Are you really going to do that?”

“Hey Lily. Are you really going to work for your uncle’s company?”

Lily’s mother, Katherine, asked Lily if she was serious.

“Of course I’m serious!”

Lily answered right away.

I wanted to get out of the country and see the big city, and I thought that Uncle Ted’s invitation was a chance to get out of the country.

* Ted had moved to the big city of Newport and gotten a job at a manufacturing company, while his brother, Lily’s father, Carl, had taken over the family farming business. *

“There’s no need to go to a dangerous place…”

Catherine was worried that her daughter Lily would go to the city, and wished she would help out with the family farming business.

“Yes, why don’t you help Mom and Dad with their work here?”

Lily’s father Carl was also worried about Lily, and wanted her to help out with the family business if she wanted a job.

“Mom and Dad! It’s not like the city is necessarily a dangerous place, and I don’t particularly dislike working at home, but I want to try different things!”

Lily wanted to go to the city and find out what she wanted to do.

And this was after I’d finished saying hello to the family.

3/3. “It feels like whole family has sent you off”

“It feels like your family has sent you off. Hohoho.”

Jeffrey was very happy.

“Yes!”

Lily replied again with enthusiasm.

“I’m Jeffrey. I’ll be here for a short time, but please take care of me.”

Jeffrey introduced himself to Lily.

“I’m Lily Labiris! Nice to meet you!”

Lily also introduced herself with enthusiasm.

“I’m fine. Hohoho. By the way, what are you planning to do in Newport, Lily?”

Jeffrey asked Lily about her purpose in going to Newport.

“I’m going to get a job at my uncle’s company for now, but I’m not sure about anything else!”

Lily told Jeffrey about her plans.

“I see. Anyway, no matter what anyone says, you have to pave your own path with your own hands.”

Jeffrey told Lily how to live.

“That’s what I’m going to do!”

Lily was planning to stay with her uncle Ted’s company for the time being, but if she found another job she wanted to do, she would change jobs.

“Hohoho. Good, good. You’re doing well.”

Jeffrey was excited to see what Lily would accomplish in Newport.

And this is when Newport came into view from the train window.

“That’s the big city of Newport.”

Jeffrey told Lily.

“That’s Newport…!”

Lily looked at Newport with sparkling eyes.
